West Virginia Adventures is a premiere white water rafting outfitter on the New River and Gauley River in West Virginia. Our base camp is located on US Route 19 in Glen Jean, just 7 miles north of Beckley, West Virginia and Interstate Highways I-64 and I-77.

Owner Rob Dobson feels that this makes it possible to focus on the individual needs of his guests, and provides for a more intimate experience on and off of the river. "We appreciate all of our guests and want to make the best experience possible for them. Some outfitters put nearly a thousand people down the river each day, and it begins to feel more like a circus than a rafting trip. This is not the case on our rafting trips or at our base camp. Often, we have only one trip a day, and this allows us to set our own pace on and off of the river. I personally accompany nearly every West Virginia Adventures rafting trip, and with over 20 years of experience on the river, I believe that I can provide the best rafting experience possible for my guests."
Base Camp and Camping Facilities
West Virginia Adventures operates a clean, safe and relaxing full-service campground. There are a number of nice tent and RV sites available along with camp fire rings and picnic tables. Tent rentals are available at the front desk along with other camping supplies. There is a clean and spacious bathroom and shower building convenient to all campsites.
